About What's My PageRank

What's My PageRank began, years ago, as a free tool for looking up a website's Google PageRank. The metric it depended on no longer exists, so the site has been rebuilt as something more durable: a clear, independent, vendor-neutral archive of what PageRank was and how website authority is measured today.

Why the tool is gone

The public PageRank score — the green 0-to-10 bar — was last updated by Google in December 2013 and removed entirely in 2016. Because no live PageRank data is published anywhere anymore, no honest tool can display a current score. Rather than invent a number, we chose to explain the reality. You can read the full story on our history of PageRank page.

What this site is now

Every page here is educational. We cover what PageRank was and how it worked, the tools that grew up around it, the tricks people used to fake it, and — most usefully — the metrics and methods that have taken its place. The aim is simply to give site owners, students, and the curious a trustworthy, jargon-free reference. Good starting points are What is PageRank? and what replaced PageRank.

Our approach

Two principles guide everything here. First, honesty: we won't show a fabricated score or promise to "boost" a metric that no longer exists. Second, independence: we are vendor-neutral. Where we mention third-party SEO tools, we name them only so you recognise the terms, and we recommend none over the others. There are no ads and nothing to buy.
